Dr. Angel Cartagena is a native of Newark, New Jersey and a graduate of Yale University (BA), Boston College Law School (JD), Northwestern Theological Seminary (Th.M), and Colorado Theological Seminary (D.Min.). Angel brings together his combined experience as an attorney, a pastor, and a teacher to help people and groups navigate relationships, especially in the areas of marriage, divorce recovery, and cultural diversity. His teaching and guidance is all based on biblical principles, with a heart to helping people flourish. His most recent book, "Race and the American Church," is Angel's attempt to provide Christians with a framework for having loving and productive conversations about how to address issues of race and racial justice in our society. Angel is also the author of "The Other Side: Life After Divorce," a devotional based on his divorce recovery course and that is designed to help people walk through the healing process. 

Angel is happily married to his wife Wendy and, together, they have three children and one grandson. They are enjoying life in Mount Airy, North Carolina.
